This follows reports of attacks on Tesla showrooms and customers, ranging from minor vandalism to life-threatening incidents, sparking national outrage amid anti-Musk and anti-Trump sentiments.
The announcement coincided with Musk’s White House visit, during which Trump purchased a Deep Red Tesla Model S for staff use, strengthening their partnership.
Trump’s designation of these acts as domestic terrorism may reflect Musk’s role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) or simply his personal support for Musk, a key figure since the campaign.
