‘Every Parent Should Watch This’: Elon Musk Retweets ‘What Is A Woman?’ To His 140M Followers

The Daily Wire’s groundbreaking documentary “What is a Woman?” retweeted Elon Musk. Early on Friday, his own social media platform shut down his broadcast on Twitter hours earlier with a barrage of sanctions.

The Daily Wire posted the groundbreaking 90-minute documentary starring Matt Walsh on Twitter, where it can be viewed for free for 24 hours, on Thursday night to mark the one-year anniversary of its release and continue the craze About radicalizing the transgender conversation.

But Twitter labeled the documentary as “hateful conduct” and restricted its visibility due to two instances of alleged “misrepresentation”. Hours before its release, Musk insisted on Twitter that it was a mistake, yet the film was beset by restrictions on airing.

Early Friday, Twitter’s tag “What is a woman?” removed, allowing Twitter users to like and retweet the documentary, and Musk tweeted the film to his 140 million followers.

“Every parent should watch it,” Musk wrote.

The tweet promoting the film was viewed over a million times within three hours of being broadcast. The Daily Wire’s tweet on the film has been viewed over 20 million times and retweeted nearly 40,000 times as of Friday morning.

At issue was a father referring to his own daughter with a feminine pronoun despite identifying as transgender, and a shopkeeper addressing a vast city councilor who claimed to be female with a masculine pronoun. But Musk promised late Thursday to allow the film to air without the “hateful conduct” label, saying that although he uses people’s preferred pronouns to be polite, it is a matter of free speech.

Someone missed the memo on Twitter.

“It was fast,” tweeted Jeremy Boring, co-CEO of the Daily Wire, when the film began airing and being criticized. Even Elon Musk threatened to label What Is a Woman on Twitter as “outrageous conduct” and erred in reducing the film’s reach, which Twitter promptly did when the film went live.

Elon Musk, who said the film was “definitely allowed” under the platform’s rules, later responded to a tweet from Walsh, saying that despite the film not appearing in users’ feeds, Twitter was still allowing the film to appear in users’ feeds. , Flagged as “hate speech” and getting banned. From the trending list of the platform, it still garners a huge number of views.

“Will be fixed tomorrow,” Musk replied.

Walsh responded to Musk’s tweet promoting the documentary on Friday, thanking Musk.

“Well done. Thanks, Elon. We really appreciate it,” Walsh said.

The documentary, released last summer, was seen by audiences in more than 70 countries, even as traditional media critics overlooked its impact on film and culture.

Soon after its release, “What’s a Woman?” became the most watched film at home according to Rotten Tomatoes, which also revealed that the audience gave the film a 97% rating.

This documentary arguably sparked a movement to protect children from the harmful effects of sex change procedures.

Following the film’s release and Walsh’s subsequent rallies and events speaking out about the potentially tragic consequences of so-called “gender-affirming” care, at least a dozen states have banned transgender surgery on minors.

”Elon continues to work to make good on his pledge to keep Twitter an open platform.”
