Trump called Rosie O'Donnell a 'threat to humanity
President Donald Trump has threatened to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship, citing her as a “threat to humanity” in Truth Social posts on July 12 and September 4, 2025, amid their decades-long feud sparked by O’Donnell’s 2006 criticism of him on The View.
Now living in Ireland since January 2025, O’Donnell, a New York-born citizen, cannot legally lose her citizenship due to the 14th Amendment and a 1967 Supreme Court ruling (Afroyim v. Rusk), which protects natural-born citizens unless they voluntarily renounce it.
Legal experts deem Trump’s threat unconstitutional, and O’Donnell has defiantly responded, continuing her criticism of his policies, including his administration’s handling of recent Texas floods, while pursuing Irish citizenship.
