SpaceX to Launch NASA’s TRACERS Mission

July 23, 2025: SpaceX is preparing to launch NASA’s TRACERS mission from SLC-4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The 57-minute launch window opens at 11:13 a.m. PT (2:13 p.m. ET).

The Falcon 9, on its 16th flight, will carry TRACERS, two satellites studying magnetic reconnection and space weather, alongside SEOPS’ Epic Athena, Skykraft’s Skykraft 4, Maverick Space Systems’ REAL, Tyvak’s LIDE, and York Space Systems’ Bard.

After stage separation, the first stage will land at LZ-4, potentially causing sonic booms audible in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties, depending on weather conditions.

A live webcast will start 15 minutes before liftoff on SpaceX’s website, X @SpaceX, and the X TV app, with a backup launch opportunity on July 23 at the same time.
