SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base’s SLC-4E in California, slicing through the foggy sky to deliver 24 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit, Image: SpaceX
Man, what a night for space fans! On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:05 p.m. Pacific, SpaceX lit up the foggy California sky with a Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base’s SLC-4E, sending 24 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit to boost global internet coverage.
This was the fifth rodeo for the trusty B1093 booster, which has only ever hauled Starlink payloads, and it nailed another perfect landing on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship out in the Pacific.
Despite some delays and tricky weather, the launch was a total success, and folks from Santa Barbara to Phoenix might’ve caught a glimpse of that rocket blazing through the night. Gotta love how SpaceX keeps pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, making the future feel just a bit closer!
