Elon Musk explained how Democrats are helping illegal immigrants, Image: Gettyimage
Elon Musk, on Joe Rogan’s podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” available on Rogan’s YouTube channel and released on February 28, 2025, stated that the Democratic propaganda machine wants to destroy him because fraudulent entitlements like Social Security, disability, and Medicaid for illegal immigrants are drawing people from around the world to the U.S.
He argues that offering a standard of living better than 90% of the Earth acts as a powerful lure, and if this “fraud” were stopped, immigrants would leave, causing Democrats to lose millions of voters.
Musk claims Democrats are trying to turn these immigrants into voters, as he says is happening in New York, where he alleges 600,000 illegal immigrants are registered to vote. He cites FEMA as an example, claiming it funded “luxury hotels” for illegal immigrants in New York, despite being meant for disaster-stricken Americans.
According to Musk, Trump tried to stop this, but New York sued for $80 million. He asserts this is all a plot to “buy voters” and destroy democracy, turning swing states blue and making America a permanent socialist state.
Research shows some of Musk’s claims are partially accurate, such as FEMA funding in New York, but “luxury hotels” and “600,000 voters” are exaggerations. Illegal immigrants don’t receive federal benefits, and New York’s local voting law is stalled in court.
Musk’s “magnet” and “voter import” claims lack evidence, with experts noting migration is driven by economic and safety factors, not benefits. His assertion that four years of Kamala Harris would eliminate swing states is a hypothetical scenario without solid grounding.
This statement reflects his support for Trump and opposition to Democrats, and Musk encourages people to do their own research.
