Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) recently revealed that it has canceled $577 million in “America Last” grants, resulting in savings of $237 million.
According to Doge: Among the canceled grants were several foreign projects, including $10 million for “gender equality in Mexican workplaces,” $12.2 million for “worker empowerment in South America,” $6.25 million for “improving respect for worker rights in agricultural supply chains in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador,” $5 million for “increasing women’s participation in workplaces in West Africa,” $4.3 million for “assisting foreign migrant workers in Malaysia,” $3 million for “enhancing social security access and worker protections for internal migrant workers in Bangladesh,” and $3 million for “safe and inclusive work environments in Lesotho.”
Additionally, Elon Musk stated, “More of your tax dollars saved,” suggesting ongoing efforts to save taxpayer money.
Musk has also claimed that nearly a billion dollars in savings have already been achieved, with plans to reduce the federal budget by at least $2 trillion annually. This move appears to be a collaboration between the US Department of Labor (USDOL) and DOGE, aimed at prioritizing domestic needs over foreign projects. However, further data from official government sources may be required to fully verify these claims.
