Democrat NGOs set the Cybertrucks on fire, and there is no evidence

On the night of March 9, 2025, four Cybertrucks were damaged by a fire in a Tesla lot in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood. The Seattle Fire Department and Seattle Police Department have confirmed the incident.

The event occurred around 11 p.m., and firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze. The lot also contained between 50 and 80 other electric vehicles, which were being held for dealerships or customer deliveries.

A creator on X claimed that “several Democrat NGOs have carried out coordinated attacks on Tesla dealerships, employees, and vehicles. Last night, several Cybertrucks were set on fire in Seattle. Democrats are becoming increasingly desperate and violent.” This claim appears to refer to a recent incident in Seattle where four Tesla Cybertrucks were set ablaze on the night of March 9, 2025. Elon Musk also reposted this on X with the comment, “this is crazy.”

However, the incident is currently under investigation by the Seattle Police Department and the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives), and it has not yet been confirmed what caused the fire or whether it was a deliberate attack.

Seattle Fire Department spokesperson David Cuerpo stated that the fire was reported at 11:13 p.m. on March 9 and was extinguished, but the cause remains unclear. While some news reports and social media posts have linked the incident to Democrat-affiliated organizations, no concrete evidence supporting this claim has been made public by investigating agencies.

For instance, Lead Stories published a fact-check on March 10, 2025, stating that there is no evidence that “Democrat NGOs” set the Cybertrucks on fire, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Additionally, this event occurs against a broader backdrop of growing opposition and attacks on Tesla following Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration, but there is no official confirmation specifically attributing responsibility to Democrat organizations.

Therefore, the claim on X can currently be viewed as speculation rather than a verified fact. To know the truth, we must await the results of the investigation.
