The Cybertruck, built by Tesla, can prove helpful to SpaceX in several ways. Firstly, the Cybertruck’s outer structure is made of ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel, the same material SpaceX uses for its Starship rocket.
This material is strong and lightweight, and testing it helps SpaceX understand how reliable it is for space missions. Moreover, SpaceX has practically used the Cybertruck at its Starbase facility, such as towing the Raptor engine, which demonstrates its ability to perform in tough conditions.
Elon Musk has stated that a “pressurized version” of the Cybertruck could be used on Mars, where it might assist in transporting equipment or building infrastructure. Additionally, the technological exchange between Tesla and SpaceX, like electric motors or battery technology, can reduce costs for SpaceX projects.
Lastly, for SpaceX’s future Mars missions, the Cybertruck can play a significant role and is indeed essential for ground support. Thus, the Cybertruck is helpful to SpaceX.
