On March 18, 2025, at around 2:45 a.m., a Tesla repair center located at 6260 West Badura Avenue in Las Vegas was set on fire. The primary suspect in this attack is 36-year-old Paul Kim, who was arrested by the Las Vegas Metro Police on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The incident caused damage to five Tesla vehicles and the building itself. According to police, Kim used Molotov cocktails and firearms to carry out the attack.
Las Vegas Metro Police Sheriff Dori Koren stated that Kim executed the attack in a planned manner. He faces multiple charges, including arson, possession of an explosive device, and property destruction.
Additionally, federal charges related to arson and illegal possession of weapons have also been filed against him.
This incident is considered part of a recent surge in violence against Tesla, which the U.S. government and the FBI have labeled as “domestic terrorism.” The FBI has established a special task force to investigate such attacks.
FBI Director Kash Patel remarked, “Violent activities against Tesla will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be brought to justice.”
Meanwhile, Tesla owners have begun taking legal action against vandals. Yesterday, a vehicle owner in Texas filed the first civil lawsuit against a vandal.
Although Tesla itself has not yet initiated any lawsuits against vandals, it is speculated that the company may pursue legal action in the future against groups or individuals inciting violence against its property and vehicle owners.
Preliminary investigations into Paul Kim’s social media activity suggest possible connections to communist and pro-Palestinian groups, though his motives remain unclear at this time. He is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
