The tweet came in response to a clip in which WEF founder and president Klaus Schwab discusses how WEF’s new “Global Cooperation Village” in the Metaverse can be trusted at a time when trust in political institutions around the world is at an all-time high.
And Schwab can be trusted by Interpol, an international organization that coordinates police response to crime and is involved in the project. Elon Musk responded that the WEF is fast becoming the unelected world government that the people never asked for and do not want.
The annual event in the Swiss ski resort town of Davos attracts heads of state, business executives cultural trendsetters and representatives of international organizations to the luxe mountain town and although it is not always clear how much concrete action will emerge.
The meeting plans to cover pressing global issues ranging from climate change and economic uncertainty to geopolitical instability and public health. Hundreds of public sessions are planned, but the four-day conference has also been known to host secret meetings and bargaining by business leaders.
