The purpose of the agreement is to subsidize the exhibition of innovations and capabilities to move military cargo and auxiliary guides around the world on a single rocket.
The agreement is for the Rocket Freight Program, the program is exploring if it is possible to incorporate giant commercial rockets for Defense Department operations around the world. The Air Force Research Laboratory is a leader in the program. This is the largest ever agreement for rocket freight. SpaceX agreed to a comparable arrangement with the US Transportation Command in 2020.
This study takes a look at ideas for rapid transport through space. Last month, the US Transportation Command agreed to a comparable arrangement with Blue Origin. The contract does not indicate the schedule of any particular program for performance. However, according to sources, there may be a full-up show in a couple of years.The Air Force intends to welcome the latter into various organizations. As such, nothing unexpected will happen assuming we see another agreement announced with Blue Origin or Boeing in any event.

The agreement is essential to the Air Force’s rocket cargo program that includes taking a look at the use of giant commercial rockets for the Defense Department around the world, according to the System for Award Management, a US government site.
The site says the settlement was delivered on Friday but was not unveiled until Tuesday. Rocket Cargo Program Administrator Greg Spangers told SpaceNews that the agreement does not indicate which SpaceX rockets will be used for the program. The Air Force and SpaceX did not immediately respond to an insider’s request for comments made outside US working hours.
Spangers told SpaceNews that the DoD wanted the option of transporting freight anywhere on the planet to help compassionate guides. From SpaceX dispatch and arrival the Air Force will collect the ecological information needed for the program, Spangers told SpaceNews.
Most where disasters happen do not have commercial spaceports, Spanger told SpaceNews, adding that the Air Force is examining a greater range of landing options for provincial locations. Spanger told SpaceNews that the Air Force is looking at contracting other dispatch vehicle suppliers in the future to assist with the program.
