Local Florida residents have a prime opportunity to view this event. The mission will carry astronauts Zena Cardman (Commander), Michael Fincke (Pilot), Kimiya Yui (Mission Specialist), and Oleg Platonov (Mission Specialist).
Should any issues prevent the launch, a backup slot is set for August 1, 2025, at 11:43 a.m. ET. The mission will utilize a reused Dragon spacecraft, which previously supported the Demo-2, Crew-2, Ax-1, Crew-6, and Crew-8 missions, and will be propelled by a Falcon 9 rocket, with its first stage landing at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Landing Zone 1.
The crew’s objectives include conducting experiments to advance deep-space exploration and contribute to Earth-based innovations in medical technology, material science, and environmental studies. Live streaming of the launch will begin an hour prior on SpaceX’s website, X @SpaceX, and the X TV app.
