The order aims to curb exploitative practices like ticket scalping and promote fairness for consumers by targeting the use of bots to buy up tickets and resell them at inflated prices.
Kid Rock, a known Trump supporter, backed the initiative, calling it a “great first step” toward addressing issues that have plagued fans for decades.
The order directs the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to collaborate with the Attorney General to enforce competition laws and ensure transparency throughout the ticket-buying process.
It also requires ticket scalpers to comply with tax regulations and mandates a report within 180 days summarizing actions taken. Kid Rock expressed hope for future legislation, such as caps on resale prices, to further protect fans.
