According to recent reports, on the morning of March 9, 2025, the U.S. Secret Service shot an armed individual near the White House.
The incident took place in Washington, D.C., near 17th and F Street NW. Per the Secret Service, the individual was traveling from Indiana toward Washington, D.C., and local police had identified him as a “suicidal” person. Around midnight, the Secret Service spotted his vehicle and found a person nearby with a weapon.
When officers approached him, he drew his firearm, leading to an armed confrontation, after which the Secret Service opened fire.
